
David Diskin was born and brought up in the English Midlands but has spent most of his working life in Asia. He currently lives in Hong Kong where he pursues his interest in natural history, writing and photography. He is also a guide and leads specialist bird watching and nature tours for visitors to Hong Kong.
He founded Accipiter Press in 2011 in order to publish books on the natural history and ecology of Hong Kong. So far under the Accipiter Press imprint he has written and photographed: Hong Kong Nature Walks: The New Territories

His previous publications include Birding Hong Kong: A Site Guide and The Avifauna of Hong Kong (co-author).
He also has a deep interest in literature, particularly literary fiction. His novel The Village in the Mountains was joint-winner of the 2011 Proverse Prize and is published by Proverse Hong Kong.
